Z-Rcon — a hardened RCON toolbox for admins
Demo
Admin commands over RCON for a live server: items and XP given to a player are capped and logged, and the commands that destroy or move things in bulk show a preview first and only act when you add
go. Z-Rcon installs no game hook: it only executes admin orders, one at a time.Built as a replacement for ExtendedRcon, whose tribe-log command can crash a server. An optional compatibility switch registers the exact
GiveItemToEOSId command name, so tools built for ExtendedRcon keep working.Install
Drop the
Z-Rcon folder into ShooterGame/Binaries/Win64/ArkApi/Plugins/. Requires AsaApi 2.03+. Loads at server start.RCON commands
<eosid> is the player's EOS id. Most player commands need the player online.Players
ZRcon.Players— every online player: name, EOS id, tribe, position.ZRcon.Pos <eosid>— exact position of a player.ZRcon.Id <eosid>— the player's implant number (Sample #), the one mod commands ask for.ZRcon.Tp <eosid> <x> <y> <z>— teleport a player (unstuck, rescue).ZRcon.TpTo <eosWho> <eosTo>— teleport the first player onto the second.ZRcon.Msg <eosid> <text>— private server message to that player only.ZRcon.Warn <eosid> <text>— a warning panel the player has to close (the panel needs Z-Messages; without it, a coloured chat message).ZRcon.Inv <eosid> [filter]— inventory scan (read-only), to check loss claims.ZRcon.Buffs <eosid>— buffs currently on the player.ZRcon.GiveBuff <eosid> <Blueprint'/Path.Name'>— apply a buff to the player.
Giving
ZRcon.Give <eosid> <blueprintPath|alias> <qty> <quality> <forceBP 0|1>— give an item; quantity capped byGive.MaxQuantity, aliases inAliases.ZRcon.Exp <eosid> <amount>— compensation XP, capped byExp.MaxAmount.ZRcon.DinoXp <eosid> <radiusFoundations<=50> <xp>— XP to every tamed dino of the player's tribe around them (the radius is capped; the XP amount is not capped by a setting).- Every
GiveandExp, every player or dino teleport and every tribe change is appended togives.login the plugin folder (who, what, when).DinoXpis written in the server log.
Tribes
ZRcon.Tribes— tribes of the online players: team id, tribe name, who is connected.ZRcon.TribeAdmin <eosid>— makes an online player admin of his own tribe.ZRcon.TribeOwner <eosid> go— transfers tribe ownership to that online player (gois mandatory).ZRcon.ForceTribe <eosid> <teamId> [go]— puts an online player into an existing tribe; if he already is in a real tribe, preview unlessgo.
Dinos and world
ZRcon.Dinos <eosid>— the tamed dinos of the player's tribe, with names and positions.ZRcon.TpDino <eosid> [id:N | classFilter] [count] [remontee] [go]— bring one dino (id fromZRcon.Dinos) or a batch onto the player. Preview unlessgo; aquatic creatures are left out unlessremonteeis given.ZRcon.TpDinoAt <eosid> <x> <y> <z> [id:N | classFilter] [count] [remontee] [go]— same, to a point.ZRcon.SlayWild <x> <y> <radius<=15000> [classFilter] [go]— removes (destroys) WILD creatures in an area (the wyvern stuck in a base). Preview unlessgo, 50 at most per command, never a tribe dino.ZRcon.Unclaimed— read-only: how many unclaimed dinos, which species, since when.ZRcon.Unclaimed purge <days> [go]— preview, then destroy those seen unclaimed for at least<days>.ZRcon.Census [filter] [depart:N]— count actors by class (wild and tamed apart).ZRcon.Around <x> <y> <z> <radius>— what is around a point, and whose.ZRcon.Inspect <x> <y> <z> <radius> <class name part> [max]— Blueprint variables of matching structures/creatures.
GPS (map coordinates in replies)
ZRcon.GpsCal <eosid> <lat> <lon>— calibrates the conversion for this map from what a player reads on his in-game GPS.ZRcon.GpsDiag— where the GPS calibration of this map can come from.
Plugin
ZRcon.Status— version, command list, GPS state.ZRcon.Reload— re-reads config.json without restarting the server.
Long answers are split mechanically (
reste=N suite=M): send the same command again with depart:M to get the next part.Configure (config.json)
General.Enabled—falseputs the plugin to sleep (Status and Reload stay awake).General.Language— language of the few messages sent TO A PLAYER (item received, XP received, private message frame, warning panel): EN, FR, DE, ES or your own block. RCON replies are in English.Give.MaxQuantity,Exp.MaxAmount— upper bounds.Aliases— short names forZRcon.Give(lowercase); extend freely.Compat.GiveItemToEOSId—falseby default. Turn it on ONLY once ExtendedRcon is removed: two plugins on the same command name would deliver twice.Unclaimed.ScanEveryHours/Unclaimed.AutoPurgeDays—AutoPurgeDaysis0(never) by default; owned dinos are never touched.
Compatibility
Built and tested against AsaApi 2.03 (ARK: Survival Ascended dedicated server, Windows).
External connections and data
- No network connection of its own. Z-Rcon answers commands that reach the server through ARK's own RCON (which you enable and protect in the server settings). No web request, no telemetry, no licence check, no update check.
- Files written, all in its own folder:
gives.log(everyGive,Exp, player or dino teleport and tribe change: time, EOS id, what was done; appended, never trimmed by the plugin),unclaimed-seen.json(ids of unclaimed dinos and when they were first seen unclaimed),around-<date>.txtandinspect-<date>.txt(a copy of eachZRcon.AroundandZRcon.Inspectanswer, not cleaned up automatically), andconfig.json(rewritten to rename setting names of older versions, and whenZRcon.GpsCalsaves a map calibration). - Files read: its own
config.json, and AsaApi's own offset cache (to check that a game field exists before reading it). - When Z-Messages is loaded, Z-Rcon calls its exported functions (styled messages, the warning panel), inside the server process.
- No game hook, no registry access, no external program started, no other data collected.
Dependencies and limitations
- No required dependency. Optional: Z-Messages (the
ZRcon.Warnpanel; without it, a coloured chat message). - RCON must be enabled on the server. Most player commands need the player online.
- Bulk and destructive commands show a preview and act only when you add
go. Compat.GiveItemToEOSId: turn it on only once ExtendedRcon is removed, or items would be delivered twice.
Updates
Z-ARK (server manager, https://z-ark.fr/en/) checks for new versions of this plugin and installs them from its dashboard.
Without Z-ARK: click Watch at the top of this page to be notified of every new version; what changed is listed in the Updates tab. To update, stop the server, replace the plugin's .dll and PluginInfo.json, keep your config.json, then start the server again.
Built with AI, knowingly
This plugin was written with an artificial intelligence, and we would rather say it plainly. It is not code thrown together at random: behind it is someone from the trade (software development, server operations, community management) who decides every feature, reviews it and puts it to the test on a real cluster, with real players, before it reaches you. The same goes for the ZMenu client mod. Bugs reported in the Discussion tab get fixed.
